Frequently Asked Questions

What Populations do you work with?

At Valued Insight Counseling I enjoy working with individuals 18 years or older, families, and groups.

What Issues Can you help me with?

My areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and grief/loss.  In addition, I am passionate about supporting clients who are experiencing life transitions, relationship issues, parenting issues, and work/career stress.  I also provide family consultations for those struggling to cope with a family member's recent mental health diagnosis, or finding approaches and resources to best support their recovery.

What are your fees?

My fees for a 50 minute session and 60 minute initial consultation are $150 and 60 minute family session is $170.   Group sessions, as available, are $60 for a 60 minute session. Payment options include cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, or Health Savings Account cards.  I am "out of network" with most insurance plans.  All fees are due on the date of service.

**If cost is keeping you from pursuing counseling, please contact me and we can explore other solutions that may meet your needs.

What are your office hours?

I work by appointment only, but my hours are flexible.  Daytime and evening appointments available throughout the week.  Once we've decided that I am a good fit to work with you, through an initial consultation, we can discuss a schedule that is mutually convenient.

What Insurance do you take?

Currently I accept Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Carefirst, but this may change in the near future so please contact me to confirm.  If you have verified that your plan has out of network mental health coverage and would like to utilize your insurance to cover some of our services, I will gladly provide you with a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement.

Does your office have parking?

Yes, there is ample free parking in front of my office building located at 4405 East West Highway in Bethesda.  There is also an additional lot in the back for client parking.  No parking pass is needed as long as you are receiving services in the building.

How many sessions will i need?

The answer to this question depends on several factors which varies from person to person.  Your goals for therapy, the issues discussed, and your openness to actively participate are all factors in the length of treatment.  My goal is help you meet your goals as quickly as possible, so I will continually review our plan with you to assess your progress and to determine if any adjustments are needed.
